Job Summary:

The Research Grant and Contract Administrator will provide financial information and advice for grant applications and provide administrative support and coordination to researchers and staff throughout duration of the award.

Supervisory Responsibilities:

• None.

Duties/Responsibilities:

• Helps prepare grant applications, making sure that applications focus on the conditions, restrictions, and goals of the sponsoring organization.
• Negotiates with grant sponsors and seeks to ensure that both parties have understanding and agreement about special details.
• Oversees administration of projects to ensure that operations conform to the terms of the agreement, and that maximum efficiency is achieved.
• Works with research staff to obtain their understanding of the necessity of following proper procedures in achieving project goals.
• Monitors financial administration of grants to ensure that proper documentation is submitted for expenditures and that requests for funds are made within time limitations specified.

• Prolonged periods sitting at a desk and working on a computer.
• Must be able to lift up to 15 pounds at times.
