Job Summary:
The Food Biofuels Production Manager will oversee production and plant operations, which may include facility management, budget execution, and quality assurance.
Supervisory Responsibilities:
- Hires and onboards production staff; provides appropriate new hire training.
- Provides additional safety and production training, as needed.
- Organizes and oversees the work and schedules of departmental supervisors.
- Conducts performance evaluations that are timely and constructive.
- Handles discipline and termination of employees as needed and in accordance with company policy.
Duties/Responsibilities:
- Supervises and coordinates activities throughout the biofuel generation facilities including production, shipping, maintenance, and quality assurance.
- Studies the costs, materials, and efficiencies of the biofuel plant and operations.
- Reviews logs, datasheets, and reports to assess production, fuel flow levels, and other metrics.
- Identifies process abnormalities or inefficiencies then addresses those problems by determining and implementing appropriate changes.
- Performs quality control testing by collecting samples of biofuel products and/or secondary byproducts.
- Prepares, executes, and monitors budgets.
- Submits periodic production reports to director or other appropriate staff.
- Authorizes new production processes and required equipment purchases or repairs.
- Ensures employee compliance with plant safety, environmental, and operational standards and regulations.
- Ensures safe transfer and storage of flammable or other potentially dangerous stock and products.
- Interrupts processes, shutting down and restarting equipment and production in emergencies and when maintenance, repairs, or replacements are required.
- Performs other related duties as assigned.

- Thorough understanding of biofuel production process.
- Thorough understanding of equipment used to produce or monitor biofuel process.
- Good organizational skills and attention to detail.
- Proficient in Microsoft Office Suite or related software.
Education and Experience:
- Associates degree in related field required; Bachelors degree preferred.
- Background in life sciences or biotechnology preferred.
- At least three years of related experience required.
Physical Requirements:
- Prolonged periods sitting at a desk and working on a computer.
- Must be able to lift up to 15 pounds at times.
