Job Summary:
The Computer Operations Specialist will coordinate and maintain assigned processing systems and procedures, ensuring that efficiency and user satisfaction are maintained.
Supervisory Responsibilities:
- None.
Duties/Responsibilities:
- Acts as liaison on technical matters between the operations division and applications/systems analysts, manufacturers representatives, company engineers, and other appropriate staff.
- Identifies performance problems with assigned equipment, coordinates and schedules repairs, and recommends alternate hardware options.
- Schedules and organizes testing procedures and processes for new and modified applications and software systems.
- Recommends modifications to programming sequences and/or hardware as necessary to reduce processing time.
- Coordinates, evaluates, and adjusts processing schedules considering available equipment, staff, and job priorities.
- Develops, compiles, maintains, and analyzes production statistics.
- Develops and monitors schedules and procedures for hardware maintenance.
- Performs other related duties as assigned.
Required Skills/Abilities:
- Excellent verbal and written communication skills.
- Extremely proficient in Microsoft Office Suite or related software.
- Knowledge of computers, networking, and electronics.
- Ability to identify the cause of processing problems and delays and to establish corrective actions.
- Ability to research and evaluate numerous elements and alternatives.
Education and Experience:
- Progression through computer operator positions or equivalent experience required.
Physical Requirements:
- Prolonged periods sitting at a desk and working on a computer.
- Must be able to lift up to 25 pounds at a time.
