Burnish Your Leadership Skills at SHRM24


It’s an especially tough time to be a workplace leader now, dealing with issues that include talent shortages, employee burnout, and a changing legal landscape. SHRM has already offered ways to strengthen leadership skills through resources such as the Managing Workplace Conflict toolkit.

Several sessions at the SHRM Annual Conference & Expo 2024 (SHRM24) will be dedicated to building leadership skills. SHRM24 takes place June 23-26 at McCormick Place convention center in Chicago and virtually. All times are Central time. 

 

Saturday, June 22

Leadership Skills for the Senior Executive: Mastering the Art of Negotiation

Every leader’s job involves some type of negotiation. This session outlines five different negotiation styles and when to use which one to strike a favorable deal.

Identity leadership is based on the philosophy that “you cannot lead others until you first lead yourself.” The session will detail a nine-step process to change your own mindset to organize your life for your benefit and the benefit of others.

Be a Change Catalyst in Your Organization!!—Proven Ways to Drive Sustainable Change

This session will teach leaders to proactively create and drive change in their organizations. It will stress how to frame the changes for others so they can be comfortable and consistent amid the transformation.
