On Jan. 1, 2025, Mexico’s general minimum wage increased 12% due to inflation adjustments.
The daily wage rose from Mex$248.93 to Mex$278.80. In the Northern Border Free Zone, the minimum wage increased from Mex$374.89 to Mex$419.88 per day. Professional minimum wages for 61 different professions and trades also received a 12% boost.
This wage adjustment affected employees’ average monthly earnings, with the general monthly salary averaging Mex$8,364. In the northern border area, workers may earn an average of Mex$12,596 per month.
