Team Preparation Supervisor

Team Preparation Supervisors will be assigned to a specific team. The Team Preparation Supervisor will stay with the team during the four-hour preparation period to ensure that the team is adhering to the rules of the competition; i.e. not conferring with others outside the team for the preparation of their presentation – no assistance from advisor or others in the room, no email, text messages, cell phone communications, etc.

Oral Presentation Judges

Oral Presentation Judges will be assigned to a team of three judges. The Oral Presentation Judge will be assigned to a presentation room where the teams will come for their 15 minute presentations. The Oral Presentation Judge will read the case, get acquainted with the material, read through and understand the rubric and what it is that they should be listening for in the student presentation. The Oral Presentation Judge will judge the students oral presentations based on the rubric that is provided. The Oral Presentation Judge is not to provide tips to the students before, during, or after the presentation. Once the final round is complete and the winner has been announced, the Oral Presentation Judge may provide tips and feedback to the students. Oral Presentation Judges must be SPHR certified – PHR certification if there are not enough SPHR professionals to volunteer.

Written Presentation Judges

Written Presentation Judges will be assigned to a team of three judges. The Written Presentation Judge will be assigned to a presentation room where they will receive the teams’ written presentations. The Written Presentation Judge will read the case, get acquainted with the material, read through and understand the rubric and what it is that they should be looking for in the students’ presentation. The Written Presentation Judge will judge the students two page written presentation based on the rubric that is provided. The Written Presentation Judge is not to provide tips to the students before, during, or after the presentation. Once the final round is complete and the winner has been announced, the Written Presentation Judge may provide tips and feedback to the students. Written Presentation Judges must be SPHR certified – PHR certification if there are not enough SPHR professionals to volunteer.
