SHRM Foundation Announces Marjorie Morrison as SHRM Executive-in-Residence in Mental Health
Marjorie Morrison joins SHRM Foundation as SHRM Mental Health Executive-in-Residence to foster the development and innovation of workplace mental health products and services.
ALEXANDRIA, Va. – SHRM Foundation, the nonprofit affiliate of SHRM, the trusted authority on all things work, today announced the appointment of Marjorie Morrison, LMFT, LPCC, as SHRM Mental Health Executive-in-Residence. As part of SHRM Foundation’s ongoing work to create thriving workplaces and improve workplace mental health, and in recognition of the pivotal role mental health plays in the workplace, the Mental Health Executive-In-Residence position is designed to deliver SHRM Foundation and SHRM’s global mental health vision and strategy, while also fostering the development and innovation of workplace mental health products and services.

Morrison will help SHRM Foundation and SHRM create programs, tools, and trainings to support workplace leaders and HR professionals in promoting mental health in their organizations. In partnership with leaders across SHRM, Morrison will develop innovative mental health solutions, enhance access to mental health support, advance thought leadership in workplace mental health through data driven approaches, and foster strategic partnerships.
Morrison is a visionary, accomplished entrepreneur, and licensed mental health professional with over 30 years of clinical and business experience. She has effectively identified issues and implemented strategic solutions within the mental health sector. Morrison's significant contributions include developing a proactive counseling program for the Marine Corps, which is still in use. She founded PsychArmor Institute, a leading nonprofit educational platform that trains civilians in supporting veterans. Later, she co-founded Psych Hub with Patrick J. Kennedy, growing it into a major platform for mental health education and connection to care, which now includes more than 1,500 resources and has garnered more than 30 million views on YouTube.
Marjorie has led insightful discussions at more than 200 national conferences, hosted hundreds of podcast interviews with mental health industry experts, penned numerous articles, and won several awards. She wakes up every day inspired to reimagine mental health through intentional and thoughtful design by leveraging the digital space and combining clinical research with the art of storytelling. Marjorie’s mission is to improve the quality of life of everyone who engages in the mental health system.
Morrison is a CA Licensed Marriage Family Therapist (LMFT), a CA Licensed Professional Clinical Counselor (LPCC), a PPS-credentialed School Counselor, and the author of “The Inside Battle: Our Military Mental Health Crisis.”
