Gumming up the Works 101: Understanding and Addressing Employee Complaints
June 5, 2025 | 2:00–5:00 PM PT
Employees dissatisfied with performance counseling or that suspect a potential legitimate termination decision will routinely attempt to disrupt effective management by making last minute – and potentially bad faith – harassment, discrimination, and retaliation complaints, or otherwise claim that they have a disability requiring medical leave. Conor Dale of Jackson Lewis, PC, will host a presentation for SHRM members on the legal background in dealing with these concerns and specifically provide best practice advice on how to effectively respond to employee complaints, conduct workplace investigations, and fulfill reasonable accommodation obligations while still providing performance counseling to employees. Jackson Lewis will be hosting a meet and mingle following this presentation for networking opportunities.
