Gennady Babankov

Gennady Babankov, Manager

Mr. Babankov manages SHRM's J-1 Exchange Visitor Program and administers the intern and trainee programs sponsored under SHRM's J-1 visa designation. Gennady brings to SHRM almost 20 years of experience with international exchange and learning and development programs. He has built and managed federally funded programs in Eurasia and the Middle East, and developed academic and professional partnerships across the United States. Since 2000, Gennady served as a manager of outbound language and culture immersion programs at American Councils for International Education, helped direct the Fulbright Teacher Exchange Program, and hosted Russian political and business leaders visiting the United States through the Open World Program. He has also lived and studied in Russia, Italy, and Hungary. Gennady holds a law degree (George Mason University) in addition to Masters degrees in History (Johns Hopkins University) and Medieval Studies (Central European University) and a Bachelors degree in Art History (Lomonosov Moscow State University).

Kimberly Nguyen,

Kimberly Nguyen, Senior Coordinator, Alternate Responsible Officer

As Senior Coordinator and Alternate Responsible Officer (ARO), Ms. Kimberly Nguyen works to support the needs of the intern and trainee programs. Ms. Nguyen comes to SHRM with 4 years of experience in international exchange and program administration. She previously administered the U.S. Department of State's International Visitor Leadership Program (IVLP) to hundreds of participants across multiple time zones and professional disciplines. Prior to this, she completed a fellowship at the Business Council for International Understanding. Ms. Nguyen holds a B.A. in Spanish Language and Literature from the University of Delaware. She is fluent in Spanish and lived in Buenos Aires, Argentina while volunteering in the Maquinista de Savio province.

Jerrika Anderson Edwards

Yohan Kim, Senior Coordinator, Alternate Responsible Officer

Mr. Yohan Kim joined the SHRM Exchange Visitor Program in January 2024. Yohan will serve as the Senior Coordinator, managing a portfolio of intern and trainee programs. Prior to taking on this role, Yohan worked with a J-1 visa recruitment organization in Seoul, facilitating professional development and training opportunities for emerging professionals and college graduates, and provided administrative support to the Consul General of South Korea in Washington, DC. Yohan was born and raised in NYC and holds a Bachelor of Arts in History from the City University of New York.
