SHRM ADVOCACY ALERT
Urge Congress to Strengthen and Support the Education-to-Employment Pipeline
The education-to-employment pipeline is leaky, broken, and busted. That said, our system is still the best in the world. Imagine what we could be if we unleashed the power of talent?
The U.S. is facing a critical talent gap, and now is the time for HR professionals to make their voices heard. As an HR leader, you know that building a strong workforce starts with ensuring workers have access to education, training, and upskilling opportunities that align with employer needs.
SHRM is calling on Congress to advance bipartisan workforce policies that modernize skills training, expand access to education, and strengthen the talent pipeline. With your help, we can ensure that workforce policies reflect the realities of today’s labor market.
By participating in this advocacy activation, you’ll urge your members of Congress to:
Reauthorize the Workforce Innovation and Opportunity Act (WIOA) to modernize workforce training programs.
Support the Bipartisan Workforce Pell Act to expand access to short-term skills training and invest in employer-led education and reskilling initiatives.
Advance policies that strengthen skills-based hiring and open doors for untapped talent, including veterans, individuals with disabilities, and opportunity youth.
HR professionals see firsthand how workforce training, apprenticeships, and education benefits help businesses close talent gaps, reduce turnover, and boost productivity. Policymakers need to hear from YOU—the professionals shaping the future of work—about the real-world impact of these policies.
Your voice matters. Take action today to advocate for policies that will strengthen our workforce, support job creation, and drive economic competitiveness.
