DHS Announces Additional H-2B Visas for 2025
On Nov. 15, the U.S. Department of Homeland Security (DHS) and the U.S. Department of Labor (DOL) announced the release of an additional 64,716 H-2B temporary nonagricultural worker visas for fiscal year 2025. These nearly 65,000 extra visas will be added to the 66,000 H-2B visas already available each fiscal year, as mandated by Congress. The H-2B program allows U.S. employers or agents that meet specific requirements to bring foreign workers to the U.S. for temporary nonagricultural jobs. Industries that commonly use these workers include construction, landscaping, the service industry (such as restaurants and bars), and hotels and hospitality. This additional visa allocation represents the maximum allowed by Congress and is the same as the extra visas provided in fiscal year 2024.
