SHRM Now Offering Talent Acquisition Specialty Credential
ALEXANDRIA, Va., July 18, 2018 — The Society for Human Resource Management (SHRM) introduced today a new professional development program in recruiting for human resource professionals, the SHRM Talent Acquisition Specialty Credential. This new credential is a way for talent acquisition professionals to distinguish their expertise, build their personal and professional credibility, and more effectively contribute to their organizations.
"The talent acquisition field has evolved so significantly in recent years that even experienced recruiters are having to rethink their approach to attracting talent," says Tony Lee, SHRM's vice president of editorial. "Our new Talent Acquisition Specialty Credential allows professionals who are working in all aspects of recruiting the ability to update their skills and prove to the marketplace that they have the cutting-edge ability needed to succeed in this heady environment."
Candidates would need to enroll in SHRM's seminar, Talent Acquisition: Creating Your Organization's Strategy, which is available in person or virtually, and complete six self-paced e-learning courses on talent acquisition-specific topics: Analytics; Getting the Candidate to Say Yes; Global Hiring; Onboarding; Technology; and Social Media Trends. Once candidates pass an online 50-question talent acquisition knowledge assessment, they are awarded the Talent Acquisition Specialty Credential.
Candidates are not required to hold a SHRM Certified Professional (SHRM-CP) or SHRM Senior Certified Professional (SHRM-SCP) credential to be eligible for the Talent Acquisition Specialty Credential. However, those who complete the program and earn the SHRM Talent Acquisition Specialty Credential will receive 25 professional development credits toward their SHRM-CP or SHRM-SCP recertification.
