Marlon Sullivan is the Executive Vice President and Chief Human Resources Officer at Johnson Controls International, a world leader in smart building technology. In this capacity, he is responsible for all elements of the employee experience for Johnson Controls’ 100,000 employees globally, including continued strengthening of talent acquisition and retention, leadership development, diversity, equity & inclusion, total rewards, learning and development, and the company’s HR solutions and services functions. As CHRO, he also continues the critical work underway to build enhanced digital and core automation into the function, which is a key enabler to the company’s digital transformation.
Sullivan brings a wealth of experience to this role and joined Johnson Controls from Delta Air Lines, where he was Senior Vice President – Human Resources. In this capacity, he led a team of HR specialists responsible for compensation, benefits, employee wellness, payroll, EEO compliance, employee service delivery and workforce analytics.
During his 12+ years of service at Abbot Laboratories across several Vice President level roles in multiple countries, Sullivan held responsibilities in the areas of Total Rewards, HR Mergers & Acquisitions, Talent Management, Learning & Development, Diversity, Equity & Inclusion, Talent Acquisition and HR Business Partner.
He also spent five years with the Home Depot serving in several roles of increasing responsibility in the areas of HR Strategy, Workforce Analytics and ultimately Senior Director of Staffing Operations.
He started his career with McKinsey & Company, where he was a business consultant in roles of increasing responsibility over several years. Sullivan earned his bachelor’s degree in Corporate Finance from Morehouse College and his MBA from Harvard Business School.
