Job Summary:
The Application Services Manager will manage, direct, and support deployment, maintenance, and other services related to the software applications used within the organization.
Supervisory Responsibilities:
- Oversees the schedules and projects assigned to application services members.
- Hires and trains members of the application services team.
- Conducts performance evaluations that are timely and constructive.
- Handles discipline and termination of employees as needed and in accordance with company policy.
Duties/Responsibilities:
- Directs, oversees, and assists with the selection, implementation, and installation of software applications used by the organization.
- Provides guidance and consultation on applications and related services to other departments, which may include reviewing system documentation, feasibility, design, testing, and implementation.
- Coordinates the resources needed to meet client and/or business objectives related to software applications.
- Assesses hardware/software systems, applications, and processes to facilitate a larger information systems (IS) strategy.
- Develops and authenticates IS business continuity plans.
- Develops and adheres to departmental budget.
- Ensures compliance with applicable company, state, and federal laws, statutes, and regulations, as appropriate.
- Performs other related duties as assigned.
Required Skills/Abilities:
- Excellent verbal and written communication skills.
- Mastery of Microsoft Office Suite or related software.
- Mastery of [insert specific software used in organization].
- Ability to solve technical and operational problems.
- Working knowledge of communication technology.
- Thorough understanding of internet/intranet, including experience with specific network environments and protocols in use at the organization.
- Ability to produce and maintain necessary documentation.
- Excellent customer service and project management skills.
Education and Experience:
- Bachelors degree in IS, Engineering, Computing, or related field required; Masters degree preferred.
- Substantial experience in IS, with successful experience managing major, complex applications development projects.
Physical Requirements:
- Prolonged periods sitting at a desk and working on a computer.
- Must be able to lift up to 15 pounds at times.
