Job Summary:

The Aeronautical Engineer will design, develop, and test new aircraft and components.

Supervisory Responsibilities:

• Oversees a design team to develop and test new aircraft that will meet customers requirements.
• Trains aircraft mechanics assigned to repair aircraft.

Duties/Responsibilities:

• Uses computer design and engineering systems to design aircraft and components.
• Oversees tests of existing aircraft, recommending design modifications that will increase aircraft performance levels.
• Records results of test performance and modifications or repairs made on such tests.
• Establishes maintenance and repair schedules to ensure aircraft always meet top safety and performance requirements.
• Evaluates performance of new and used aircraft.
• Assesses condition of new and used aircraft.

• Proficient with Microsoft Office Suite or similar software to maintain accurate records.

Education and Experience:

• Bachelors degree in Aeronautical Engineering required, Masters degree in Aeronautical Engineering preferred.
• Five years of experience in aeronautical engineering preferred.

Physical Requirements:

• Prolonged periods sitting at a desk and working on a computer.
• Must be able to access and navigate all areas of the design and testing facilities.
• Must be able to lift 25 pounds at a time.
