Job Summary:
The Aeronautical Engineer will design, develop, and test new aircraft and components.
Supervisory Responsibilities:
- Oversees a design team to develop and test new aircraft that will meet customers requirements.
- Trains aircraft mechanics assigned to repair aircraft.
Duties/Responsibilities:
- Uses computer design and engineering systems to design aircraft and components.
- Oversees tests of existing aircraft, recommending design modifications that will increase aircraft performance levels.
- Records results of test performance and modifications or repairs made on such tests.
- Establishes maintenance and repair schedules to ensure aircraft always meet top safety and performance requirements.
- Evaluates performance of new and used aircraft.
- Assesses condition of new and used aircraft.
Required Skills/Abilities:
- Mastery of computerized mechanical design systems.
- Excellent analytical and problem-solving skills.
- Excellent written and verbal communication skills.
- Excellent managerial and supervisory skills.
- Proficient with Microsoft Office Suite or similar software to maintain accurate records.
Education and Experience:
- Bachelors degree in Aeronautical Engineering required, Masters degree in Aeronautical Engineering preferred.
- Five years of experience in aeronautical engineering preferred.
Physical Requirements:
- Prolonged periods sitting at a desk and working on a computer.
- Must be able to access and navigate all areas of the design and testing facilities.
- Must be able to lift 25 pounds at a time.
