SHRM Academic Initiatives Mission:

To help create better prepared entry level HR Professionals through education, assessment, competencies and internships.

Today in India, there is a visible premier HR talent shortage due to very few institutes offering quality HR education. In keeping with SHRM's mission to serve and advance the HR profession, SHRM believes in upping the skill of Students / HR Executives by providing extensive research based, HR education programs. SHRM's education program, which is aligned to Global standards provides the students a wide range of skills, not only in talent areas, but also in understanding how business works, makes money and competes.

Our Specific Areas of Collaboration


Upping the EDUCATION –

  • Curriculum Alignment: Course is reviewed and aligned with SHRM Global Guidelines. Alignment certificate issued on a yearly basis to the institute. The institute's name and a link to its website is published on SHRM website with all the premier institutes across the world aligned with SHRM guidelines.

  • Curriculum Development: Develop courses as per SHRM Global Guidelines, which adds value to the student's academic exposure

  • Management Development Programs (MDPs): Collaborate with institute to design, develop and launch Management Development Programs (MDPs) (Of short duration 3 -5 weeks) targeting HR practitioners of India across all levels of Management. Pedagogy will include Blended learning along with interactive modules such as fireplace talks by industry experts, post program mentoring by experts etc.

Enhancing KNOWLEDGE –

  • Student / Faculty Membership: Access to SHRM's Knowledge Base (in-depth research content, articles, Tools & Templates, How to Guides, webinars etc.) ; Click here for more related information

  • Advanced Teaching Techniques workshops for Faculty: focuses on student centered learning modalities. Depending on the length selected for the workshop, faculty will have the opportunity to create, present, and take feedback on lesson plans using one or more of these techniques during the program itself. Alternatively, coaching and in-class monitoring are available post-program.

  • Workforce readiness workshops for students: focuses on having the industry itself – Train, Mentor and Guide the students to become workforce ready. It deals with the knows of "why" of selection / rejection process, learn the "corporate ways" of understanding candidates, experience "ground realities" of professional life that lie ahead and understand "fitment potential" into a particular domain or vertical

  • HR Functional Knowledge & Skills related workshops for students: focuses on delivering workshops for students to improve their HR functional knowledge and HR skills required in the corporate set up. Our HR Next workshop focuses on application of conceptual knowledge in everyday work and the HRBP workshop focuses on understanding the practical implications of various HRBP related skills and competencies at workplace. These include skills such as communication, influencing skills, leadership skills, consulting skills, business – financial skills etc. These workshops are completely customizable. 

Building NETWORKS -        


Self - Assessment and CERTIFICATION -

  • SHRM CP Certification – Students who are enrolled in their final year of an undergraduate or graduate degree program, and who have accumulated at-least 500 hours of an internship or practical HR experience are eligible to take up the SHRM Certified Professional – SHRM CP certification. As a part of this, SHRM will also provide complete Learning System (content) to the students. 

  • A 3 day duration, specific Certification Preparation Classes will be conducted at-least 2 months prior to the exam date to all the students appearing for the exam

ABOUT SHRM GLOBAL CURRICULUM GUIDELINES

Through extensive in-depth research, SHRM has come up with an enhanced global HR Curriculum, to help students imbibe the knowledge and get certified at a global level. This curriculum is based on the SHRM Body of Competency Knowledge (SHRM BoCK).
