Before the end of the 118th Congress, SHRM encourages you to contact your members of Congress and urge them to act on two key workplace priorities before the end of the year: the reauthorization of the Workforce Innovation and Opportunity Act (WIOA) and pass the Telehealth Expansion Act.
SHRM and the Garden State Council-SHRM (GSC-SHRM) urge residents of New Jersey to help defeat New Jersey State Assembly Bill 4852. This well-intentioned but misguided piece of legislation would mandate both public and private employers to establish workplace policies that would prohibit them from contacting employees outside of working hours – known as the “Right to Disconnect”.

- Paved the way for a permanent option for remote examination of documentation related to the Form I-9 that successfully modernizes the employment verification process without sacrificing safety or security.
