Job Summary:
The Assistant Bank Examiner will assist in examining and inspecting various aspects of the bank to determine the banks financial condition and to evaluate compliance with consumer protection laws and regulations, best lending practices, and securities regulations.
Supervisory Responsibilities:
- None.
Duties/Responsibilities:
- Assists in conducting, in a collaborative manner, examination activities that may include review of financial practices, assessment of cash flow, and tax analysis.
- Verifies capital assets and liabilities.
- Evaluates classification of assets.
- Handles inquiries from bank staff that arise during examination process.
- Schedules examination tasks; organizes documents and records gathered as a part of the examination.
- Assists in the preparation and presents portions of examination report as assigned.
- Communicates with bank regulators concerning issues discovered and inquiries raised during an examination (and/or assists appropriate staff with such communication).
- Regularly participates in continued training, which may include self-study courses and mandatory training programs sponsored by applicable banking regulatory agencies.
- Performs other related duties as required.
Required Skills/Abilities:
- Excellent verbal and written communication skills.
- Thorough knowledge of finance and financial regulations.
- Ability to analyze data.
- Detail-oriented and thorough nature.
Education and Experience:
- Bachelors degree in Accounting, Banking, Business Administration, Commercial or Banking Law, Economics, Finance, or related field required.
- Experience in financial field preferred.
Physical Requirements:
- Prolonged periods sitting at a desk and working on a computer.
- Must be able to lift up to 15 pounds at times.
- Must be able to travel to various bank locations throughout the week.
