Tracy Brightman is executive vice president, chief people officer for FedEx Corporation, a global transportation and business services holding company (NYSE: FDX). She leads the company’s Human Resources function which includes talent development, succession planning, executive compensation, benefits, workforce strategy, and HR operations.
Brightman is a member of the FedEx Executive Committee, which is responsible for developing and reviewing the corporation’s strategic business activities. FedEx has been widely acknowledged for its commitment to total quality service and has consistently been ranked on Fortune magazine’s industry lists, including “World’s Most Admired Companies” and “America’s Most Admired Companies.”
Before transitioning to FedEx Corporation, Brightman’s 20-year tenure at FedEx Office included her serving in the Legal Department as general counsel and senior vice president of Legal and Human Resources, vice president, assistant general counsel and managing director of litigation and employment.
Prior to joining the company, Brightman was vice president and assistant general counsel for Associates First Capital Corporation/Citigroup and worked as an attorney for private law firms. Her first paying job in high school was at a snowball stand in New Orleans.
Brightman earned her Juris Doctorate from The University of Virginia School of Law and received a Bachelor of Arts in English from The University of North Carolina at Chapel Hill. She is admitted to the State Bar of Texas.
Brightman currently sits on the board of directors for Memphis Botanic Garden. During her time in Texas, she provided volunteer hours for North Texas Food Bank’s Love Packs program, as well as several other Dallas/Fort Worth-area family and children’s nonprofit organizations.
Outside her professional and charitable work, Brightman enjoys spending time with her family, traveling the country, and honing her cooking skills.
