Job Summary:

The Supervisor of Cost Engineering will conduct and oversee cost analysis activities, directing and assisting with estimates of initial and ongoing cost of products and projects.

Supervisory Responsibilities:

• Recruits, interviews, hires, and trains new staff in the department.
• Oversees the daily workflow of the department.
• Provides constructive and timely performance evaluations.

Duties/Responsibilities:

• Conducts and/or reviews cost analysis by assessing material, labor, and overhead costs incurred in the production or assembly of parts, sub-assemblies, and finished products.
• Ensures that operating costs do not exceed the proposed budget.
• Evaluates cost effectiveness of products and projects.
• Coordinates with sales team to prepare estimates and bids for clients.
• Assesses a projects cost effectiveness and profitability.
• Develops and maintains records and documentation of production costs, performance against established standards, and other related metrics.
• Performs other duties as assigned.

Education and Experience:

• Bachelors degree in Engineering or related field required.
• Five years of related experience required; supervisory experience preferred.

Physical Requirements:

• Prolonged periods of sitting at a desk and working on a computer.
• Must be able to lift up to 15 pounds at times.
