Job Summary:
The Senior Employee Relations Specialist is responsible for the development and administration of the employee relations program, affirmative action program and employee advocacy. This position interfaces with employees, government agencies and educational institutions.

Duties/Responsibilities:

Oversees the career development and internal recruiting efforts within the organization.

Assists with external recruiting efforts, including maintaining relationships with schools, associations and other recruiters. Represents the organization at selected job fairs. Assists management with performance concerns, disciplinary action and conflict management issues.

Administers the equal employment opportunity and affirmative action programs.

Conducts exit interviews, summarizes findings, and discusses trends and concerns with senior management.

Participates in quality assurance activities.

Maintains an attitude and philosophy consistent with the company's standards.

Performs other related duties as assigned.
Required Skills/Abilities:

Excellent verbal and written communication skills.

Excellent interpersonal, counseling, and negotiation skills.

Thorough understanding of recruiting methods and best practices, as well as applicable policies and federal, state, and local employment laws and regulations.

Expert knowledge of Equal Employment Opportunity and affirmative action requirements.

Ability to comprehend, interpret, and apply the appropriate sections of applicable laws, guidelines, regulations, ordinances, and policies.

Strong analytical and problem-solving skills.

Proficient with Microsoft Office Suite or related software.
Education and Experience:
-
Bachelor's degree, preferably in human resource management or related field or equivalent combination of education, training and experience.

Five years of experience in a position of responsibility and supervisory duties.

SHRM Senior Certified Professional (SHRM-SCP) or SHRM Certified Professional (SHRM-CP) credential preferred.
Physical Requirements:

Prolonged periods of sitting at a desk and working on a computer.

Must be able to lift up to 15 pounds at times.
