Job Summary:
The Banking Management Trainee will work to understand banking operations and procedures by performing assigned projects and responsibilities throughout various banking departments including financial analysis, customer service, human resource management, and bank growth and profitability.
Supervisory Responsibilities:
- None.
Duties/Responsibilities:
- Collaborates with immediate supervisor and/or training representative to create a personal job training schedule tailored to the trainees education, aspirations, and previous work background.
- Reviews training outline with the department manager of each assignment to ensure optimum training opportunities.
- Engages in assigned training projects.
- Prepares and presents written reports for department managers and training representative on each phase of training.
- Participates in frequent performance reviews.
- Actively participates in trainee development meetings and/or conferences; leads designated discussion groups.
- As required, enrolls in applicable courses at regional training center for the American Institute of Banking.
- Acts in the place of absent employee if necessary.
- Performs other related duties as assigned.
Required Skills/Abilities:
- Proven desire to expand knowledge and understanding of the banking industry.
- Understanding of economic principles and basic principles of banking.
- Excellent verbal and written communication skills.
- Effective listening skills.
- Proficient with Microsoft Office Suite or related software.
- Excellent organizational skills and attention to detail.
Education and Experience:
- Bachelors degree in related field with emphasis on banking OR satisfactory work experience required.
Physical Requirements:
- Prolonged periods sitting at a desk and working on a computer.
- Must be able to lift up to 15 pounds at times.
