Subha V. Barry is CEO of Seramount, the most comprehensive end-to-end provider of diversity, equity & inclusion services in the United States. During her seven-year leadership, Seramount dramatically improved margins, expanded its portfolio of offerings by building a unique Consulting and Learning business, and refined its recurring membership (Diversity Best Practices) platform. She also built an exceptional team to amplify subject matter and functional expertise and her collective efforts accelerated the growth of Seramount’s Fortune 500 client roster.
Subha was SVP and Chief Diversity Officer at Freddie Mac, where she served on the firm's management committee and led their Foundation. During her 20+ years at Merrill Lynch, Subha was a Managing Director and the company’s first Global Head of Diversity and Inclusion, driving strategy, infrastructure, and execution with a lens on both global and local community.
She also created a highly successful Multicultural Business Development Group to focus their Wealth Management business on diverse and multicultural communities bringing in over $8 billion in new assets and $50+ million in annual revenues in three years. She began her career at the firm as a Financial Advisor where she was a top 100 Advisor among 16,000 in the firm.
A former adjunct professor at Columbia University’s SIPA, where she taught Gender Policy, Subha now serves on a number of non-profit boards aligned with her passions–education, cancer research, and the advancement of women and girls. She is also on the advisory boards of Snowden Lane Partners, an independent wealth advisory firm, and Whiterabbitai, an artificial intelligence MedTech company.
Subha has been recognized and honored for her DE&I thought leadership, mentorship of women and diverse talent, and championship of individuals on the autism spectrum. She has been featured in the New York Times, Wall Street Journal, The Washington Post, USA Today, Forbes, Fortune, CNN, NBC’s Know Your Value, and in numerable panels and keynotes. She speaks passionately about diverse work forces and inclusive cultures as key to organizational success. Subha is particularly proud of mentoring hundreds of diversity professionals over the past twenty years.
A native of India, Subha holds a BA in Math, Economics, and Accounting from Bombay University and an MBA and MS in Accounting from Rice University. She has two grown children and lives in Naples, Florida, and New Hope, PA with her husband.
