Membership Criteria

Who Belongs to the Network?

The SHRM Executive Network welcomes new members with experience as a CHRO; the functional head of organizational development, learning or talent management, etc.; or a divisional or regional vice president.

  • HR leaders within sizeable organizations that possess the authority to create true change for work, workers and the workplace.   
  • A senior-level academic recognized within their profession as contributing strategic thinking and practice. 
To curate a senior-focused experience, only those holding a CHRO or VP title (or equivalent) at a mid-market or large enterprise will be considered for membership.

Refer a Colleague

​As a current member of the world’s most exclusive community for HR executives, you know the value brought to your career. The thought leadership, networking opportunities and strategic insights surrounding HR management are all unparalleled in the profession. 

Of course, the strength of the SHRM Executive Network is its members. That’s why we encourage you to be an ambassador by referring us to other HR leaders like you.  ​

Referring a new member is easy:

  • E-mail your referrals to us: Send your referral contact information to executivenetwork@shrm.org
  • Share the benefits: Reserve a few minutes on a meeting agenda to tell others about your experience and the benefits of membership. 
  • Give it your stamp of approval: Your personal endorsement means a lot.
  • Make your job easier: Encourage those who work with you to join either as an Enterprise Member or an Individual Member. 
  • Follow up: Send a note to your referral about two weeks after you've referred them. This often makes a difference in whether your colleague will join.
