Adam Sohn, Chief Growth Officer

Adam Sohn serves as Chief Growth Officer (CGO) and has 25 years of experience working in the public and private sector (including FDA and FTC regulated environments) as both a corporate development and marketing and communications professional.  As CGO, Adam is responsible for creating new, value- driven relationships that support the SHRM mission and lead in the development and execution of deal making that maximizes value for SHRM and its business partners.

Through the development and enhancement of SHRMʼs engagement platforms, the CGO helps ensure SHRM is positioned in both the present and future as the driving force behind the growth, strength and evolution of the U.S. workforce and other organizations around the world that also aim to enhance their competitive edge for talent in the world economy.

Prior to joining SHRM, Adam served in executive leadership roles in both non-profit and for-profit settings.   As a member of the Executive Leadership team for the Charles Koch Foundation and Institute, he built a world class communications function to support one of the fastest growing foundations in the United States.  Adam also served as a member of the leadership team of AARP, an organization of 40 million members, where, among his accomplishments, he established and led a Partnerships and Brand Alliances Division.  This division was anchored by a digital platform Adam conceptualized and developed to help people 50 years of age and older continue to thrive in the workforce and led to dozens of new, revenue generating partnerships for AARP.  Adam's leadership on AARP's work and jobs platform and related business partnerships was recognized by LinkedIn and he was invited to become a member of LinkedIn's inaugural "Executive Marketing Council" to provide LinkedIn leadership with insight into how their platform could continue to evolve to better meet the needs of the non-profit sector.

Prior to his time working in the metro DC area, Adam served the State of Florida as a political appointee by Governor Jeb Bush as Communications Director.

Adam was born and raised in New York City and started his career there as an advertising and public relations professional and also spent two years as an NASD licensed equity trader on Wall street.
