HR Magazine has the largest circulation of any HR publication in the world. It covers business, legal, and management trends relevant to human resource professionals and profiles leaders in the field. As the flagship publication for the Society for Human Resource Management, it is distributed to more than 275,000 members in over 160 countries.

The readers of HR Magazine are primarily human resource professionals in the for-profit sector, but also include government and non-profit professionals, as well as consultants, academicians, employment lawyers and others.


 Meet the Staff of the HR Magazine

Tony Lee Tony Lee is vice president of editorial for the Society for Human Resource Management (SHRM). He oversees all editorial functions, including HR Magazine, HR News online, e-newsletters and SHRM-published books. Previously, Lee was editor and publisher of, a website for job hunters and the HR community, and chief alliance officer of CareerCast’s parent company, Adicio Inc. Prior to that, he was editor and publisher of The Wall Street Journal Online Vertical Network, including, and was editor-in-chief of the National Business Employment Weekly and of Managing Your Career, both published by Dow Jones & Co. He has a master’s in journalism from Northwestern University and a bachelor’s in political science and communications from Regis University.
Christina Folz Christina Folz has been editor of HR Magazine since November 2013. She has 20 years of experience as an editor, writer and project leader. Previously, she was editor and content director for Optics & Photonics News, the monthly magazine and web resource for The Optical Society--a global scientific society based in Washington, D.C. She also served as senior editor of the Harvard Health Letter, a consumer newsletter focused on health and wellness, as well as for various magazines and newsletters published by the Massachusetts Medical Society and AcademyHealth. She has a master’s degree in journalism from Boston University and a bachelor’s degree in biology from Gettysburg College.

Desda Moss Desda Moss, managing editor, has more than 20 years of publishing experience. She was an editor and freelance writer for various newsletters, magazines and websites produced for the Freddie Mac Foundation, the National Society of Black Engineers, the National Education Association, America Online and Congress Daily. For 14 years, Moss was a reporter for USA Today, covering social issues, Congress and urban affairs, as well as a guest columnist. In 1990, she received a national award for her coverage of the Americans with Disabilities Act. Moss received her bachelor’s degree in journalism from Northwestern University.

John F. Scorza John F. Scorza, associate editor, joined HR Magazine in 2010. He has more than two decades of journalism and publishing experience. Before coming to SHRM, he was an editor at the Thompson Publishing Group, where he wrote and edited articles on pension plans and retirement issues. From 1995 to 2008, he was with CCH in Washington, D.C. He covered Congress, the Supreme Court and federal agencies, reporting on a broad range of business and workplace issues. Before that, he was the deputy legal editor at The National Law Journal in New York. He attended the University of Iowa College of Law and earned a bachelor’s degree in political science from Northwestern College in Iowa.

Dori Meinert Dori Meinert, senior writer/editor for HR Magazine and HR News online, has more than 30 years of journalism and publishing experience. Before joining SHRM in 2010, she was editor of Common Ground magazine, published by the Community Associations Institute. From 1985 to 2007, she was a Washington correspondent for Copley News Service, covering Congress, federal agencies and the Supreme Court. She has a master’s degree from Georgetown University and a bachelor’s degree in journalism and political science from Northern Illinois University.
