Adrienne Fox is a freelance business writer and editor in Alexandria, Va., with more than 15 years of experience covering economic and political news. She writes and edits workplace and general business articles for a variety of magazines, newsletters and online news organizations.

Robert Grossman is a professor in the School of Management at Marist College in Poughkeepsie, N.Y. In addition to his teaching and counseling, he also works as a state-certified arbitrator, mediator and consultant.

He holds a masters degree in law (LL.M) from NYU Law School, a J.D. from the University of Buffalo, and a bachelor's degree in history from Hobart College in Geneva, N.Y.

Grossman's freelance work has appeared in a variety of respected publications, including Entrepreneur, WSJ.Com, The Christian Science Monitor, The Miami Herald, The Oregonian, Health Forum Journal and The Buffalo News. He has written for HR Magazine since 1996. Previously, he served as a business and general assignment reporter for the Poughkeepsie Journal and a business reporter for the Hudson Valley Business Journal. In 1998, he was awarded a Ford Fellowship in Business Journalism at the University of Kansas.

Before joining the faculty of Marist College, Grossman served as Vice President for College and Community Affairs at SUNY Purchase in N.Y.; Vice President for Institutional Advancement at Sacred Heart University, Fairfield, Conn.; and Dean for Faculty and Staff Relations at Brooklyn College in the City University of New York.

Bill Roberts has worked as a reporter, editor and editorial executive at newspapers, magazines and wire services since 1976. Based in Silicon Valley, he has covered business and technology as a freelance writer since 1995.

Roberts' work has been published in Electronic Business (as contributing writer), CIO Insights, CIO, Knowledge Management, Internet World, Byte, PC Week, Home Office Computing, Open Computing and IT Solutions. He has written for HR Magazine since 1997.

As executive business editor at the San Jose Mercury News, he contributed to the newspaper's Pulitzer Prize-winning coverage of the 1989 Loma Prieta earthquake. He also wrote a cover story on the history of Silicon Valley for the 25th anniversary issue of Electronic Business, which won a 2001 Maggie Award for Best Special Theme Issue/Trade given by the Western Publications Association.

In the early '90s, Roberts spent three years as an editorial executive at Ziff-Davis, where he helped launch several publications, including Corporate Computing. He also served as editor of PC Computing, which at the time was the nation's largest monthly PC user magazine.

Earlier in his career, he spent 13 years with Knight Ridder Newspapers. During that time, he served as politics editor and national-foreign editor at the Detroit Free Press and ran European operations of Knight Ridder Financial News in London.

Roberts began his career at newspapers in North Carolina and Virginia and worked briefly for the International Herald Tribune in Paris.

He holds a master's degree in journalism from the University of North Carolina at Chapel Hill and a bachelor's degree in political science from the University of California at Davis.

Jonathan Segal is a partner in the Philadelphia law firm of Duane Morris. Segal’s practice focuses on preventive counseling, training, policy development and strategic planning on issues such as harassment, discipline and discharge, reductions in force, diversity, workplace privacy, ADA accommodations and hiring and recruiting. He also engages in collective bargaining, anti-union campaigns and strike management.

Segal has served as a consultant to the federal judicial center, providing training on discrimination and harassment to federal judges across the country.

He has been cited as a national authority on employment issues in articles in The Wall Street Journal, The New York Times, the Washington Post, the Los Angeles Times, The Philadelphia Inquirer, CNN On Line, AP On Line and Business Week On Line, to name a few.

Segal has published more than 100 articles in HR Magazine as well as other legal and business publications. He speaks regularly at the Society for Human Resource Management’s Annual Conference, where he is consistently one of the highest rated speakers, as well as other state and local HR and business conferences.

Segal graduated with honors from the University of Pennsylvania School of Law and summa cum laude from the University of Pennsylvania.

Susan J. Wells, a contributing editor of HR Magazine since 1998, has more than 20 years of experience as an award-winning editor, writer and correspondent for national news sources, leading business-to-business publications, web sites and specialty information providers. Her current reporting centers on employment and workforce strategies, business and financial news, industry forecasts and market trends, management advice, and consumer change.

Wells spent her early career as a reporter and editor for American City Business Journals, then became an editor, executive editor and editorial director for a national publishing company with a focus on small business, finance, employment law and workforce issues. Wells’ freelance work has appeared in the business sections of major dailies nationwide, including The New York Times and the Washington Post.

Her work with SHRM contributed to a 2008 Silver Award in the Association Trends All-Media Contest for a cover story on the impact of the Hispanic workforce (“Majority Minority,” HR Magazine, September 2008) and garnered a 2007 Top 10 News Story pick by Cornell University’s Center for Advanced Human Resource Studies for an article on the impact of consumer-driven health plans (“Will Employees Orchestrate Their Health Care?,” HR Magazine, December 2006).

Wells holds a bachelor’s degree in journalism from George Mason University.
