SHRM is pleased to announce the availability of new resources to help our members understand and implement the final, revised rules for the Family and Medical Leave Act (FMLA). The new rules were issued on November 17, 2008, by the U.S. Department of Labor (DOL).

The new rules, scheduled to go into effect on January 16, 2009, update and clarify the current FMLA regulations.  In addition, the new rules provide guidance on implementing the new military leave benefits enacted into law earlier this year.

The resources listed below are designed to provide you with information about how these regulations differ from those currently in place.  You’ll also find information about an upcoming SHRM seminar planned for next month that will explain the changes brought about by these revised regulations, including the newly-enacted military leave provisions.
