Workplace Flexibility

First, workplace flexibility was mentioned by both candidates during the 2nd presidential debate.  Then SHRM and the Congressional Management Foundation (CMF) issued a joint study on the issue and how it tracks with Capitol Hill staffers. Next, SHRM and the Families and Work Institute (FWI), co-hosted the 2012 Workflex Conference: Re-imagining the Workplace in Chicago.  

SHRM will continue to be at the forefront of this public policy debate, advocating for a 21st Century workplace flexibility policy that works for both employers and employees.  To learn more about SHRM’s public policy efforts on this issue, click HERE.

When Work Works Update

SHRM’s efforts to educate HR professionals and employers about workplace flexibility continue through When Work Works, SHRM’s joint initiative with the FWI. This week, the initiative released three new workplace flexibility resources and tools including,

  1. Workflex: Employee Toolkit
  2. Workflex: The Essential Guide to Effective and Flexible Workplaces
  3. The 2013 Guide to Bold New Ideas for Making Work Work

As we head into final months of the year, educational programming in 2012 When Work Works target states in winding down.  Upcoming programs include:
