SHRM Comments on Proposed Compensation Data Collection Tool
SHRM has filed comments with the Department of Labor’s Office of Federal Contract Compliance Programs (OFCCP) on an advanced notice of proposed rulemaking. The agency proposes to create a new compensation data collection tool for federal contractors for the purpose of identifying potential compensation discrimination.  [ More ]

NLRA Posting Requirement Delayed until January 31, 2012

California Developments

SHRM Webcast Provides Guidance on Newly Signed Legislation
This past weekend was the deadline for Gov. Jerry Brown to sign or veto passed by the California assembly. A number of significant employment-related statutes were okayed, including restrictions on using credit checks in employment, expanding paid leave for organ and marrow donors, tougher enforcement of independent contractor classification rules and gender identity anti-discrimination rules. On Oct. 25, SHRM and the California State Council of SHRM will host a webcast on what these and other enacted laws mean for employers in California and beyond.   [ More ]
