With the 2012 election season under way, SHRM is encouraging its membership to get involved in the process. SHRM members are encouraged to visit to stay up to date on SHRM’s efforts throughout the 2012 election cycle.

Throughout this election year, SHRM will be bringing you up-to-date coverage on election-related news, including debate schedules and a comprehensive election recap on Nov. 7, the day after Election Day, that will highlight all the major election results. SHRM is also sponsoring a series of live forums and publications with National Journal that will explore the 2012 Presidential Election and each candidate’s vision for America on a broad range of public policy issues and in particular, on the workplace. SHRM’s sponsorship is a unique, high-visibility opportunity for SHRM as National Journal is one of Washington’s most respected publications and a trusted source of information for members of Congress, the media and SHRM’s advocacy-minded members.

Above, J. Robert Carr, J.D., SPHR, SHRM’s Chief Global Communications and Marketing Officer, opens the first of three forums entitled “Compare the Candidates: An Analysis of the Issues Defining the 2012 Election” at the Newseum in Washington, a video of which is available HERE. You’ll also find a number of other great resources on the Get Out the Vote site, including:

  • Voter information
  • Primary schedule
  • Presidential debate schedule
  • Step-by-step instructions on conducting a voter-education campaign
  • “Returns Party” starter kit
  • State ballot initiatives
  • HR Votes 2012 gear and supplies

Also, be sure to get your HR Voice 2012 gear, by clicking HERE. The SHRMStore will be selling election items that will come in handy at debate watch parties and chapter events!

SHRM will again play a key role at the 2012 Democratic and Republican national conventions. SHRM’s presence will be felt at both of these high-profile political gatherings through interactive policy events, convention-related activities and SHRM member involvement. Be sure to check out the “Have a Voice” blog and all the convention coverage at
