Skills Shortage—Manufacturing

   6/14/2012

At this year’s annual conference, SHRM has teamed up with the U.S. Department of Labor (DOL) to present a half-day summit focused on the skills gap in the manufacturing industry.

SHRM’s latest research shows that two-thirds of manufacturers that are hiring report difficulty in finding candidates with the right skill sets. The event, titled “Keeping Competitive: Addressing the Skills Gap in Manufacturing,” will take place Sunday, June 24, from 8:00 a.m. to 12:30 p.m., and feature panel discussions on the current state of the skills gap, tools and resources from DOL, and effective practices and community solutions that have been adopted by employers seeking to close the skills gap at their organizations.

The session is free to interested parties attending SHRM’s Annual Conference, but does require pre-registration at this link: http://annual.shrm.org/manufacturing-summit. We look forward to seeing you all at Annual Conference in Atlanta!
