SHRM Statement on the Introduction of EFCA
Alexandria, Va. – As the world’s largest HR association, SHRM and its 250,000 members strongly oppose any attempt to abolish workers’ right to a secret ballot or to impose binding arbitration on employees and employers. The Employee Free Choice Act takes away the fundamental right of every employee to make a private choice on union representation.
At a time when the nation is facing unprecedented economic challenges, Congress must not impose unwarranted labor management rules that could seriously hinder an organization’s ability to create jobs or lead to threats, intimidation, or coercion.
