As a SHRM Foundation coordinator, you are responsible for encouraging your chapter or state council and your members to contribute financially to the SHRM Foundation.
You may want to use this language with prospective donors: "As you reflect on the many causes and organizations worthy of your charitable contributions, please consider giving back to your profession through your support of the SHRM Foundation."
Here are some first steps:
- Fundraising Best Practices: Start here to get some great ideas on fundraising within your chapter or state council.
- Leadership Campaign: Kick-off your fundraising efforts by asking your chapter or state council board members to make a personal donation. This section includes a step-by-step guide, speaking points and sample letters.
- Champions Program: Learn how you can earn recognition from the SHRM Foundation for your efforts. NOTE: Meeting the eligibility requirements for the Champions Program is also a requirement for the Gold Award and Platinum Award, as explained in the SHRM Affiliate Program for Excellence (SHAPE) planning documents
