As a SHRM Foundation coordinator, you play an important role in educating SHRM members and other HR professionals about the work of the Foundation.
Members will be more likely to donate to the SHRM Foundation if they understand our mission and the value of the work we do.
Here are some first steps:
- Overview: Read this to learn about the SHRM Foundation, so you can become an effective spokesperson
- Articles: New -- Each month is being updated for 2011! Cut-and-paste these articles into your chapter or state council newsletter to promote the Foundation to your members. You can also use these as speaking points during Foundation presentations.
- Presentation: New -- Updated for 2011! Use this powerpoint presentation to educate your chapter or state council members. You are welcome to add state or chapter-specific goals and activities; contact SHRM Foundation staff for guidance. Click on the link to see the presentation. To save a copy, choose 'file' and 'save as' from the menu bar.
- Marketing materials: Contact Susan Reyes at susan.reyes@shrm.org or 703-535-6020 to request materials to distribute at your chapter or state council meetings. A .pdf version of the 2011 Annual Campaign brochure can be found here.
- Download a 2012 scholarship flyer to share with your chapter members.
At every opportunity, reinforce the message that your members' tax-deductible donations to the SHRM Foundation will help fund scholarships, research, and educational products.
