This is the third year that SHRM has conducted this survey examining how the economic recession is impacting employers in the U.S.  The study looks specifically at topics such as recruiting and skill gaps, organizational financial health and hiring, and global competition and hiring strategies.  In addition to providing overall results for U.S. organizations, there is a California-level report and there are industry-level reports for each of the eight sectors included in the sample.  The most recent survey was conducted August 28-September 14, 2012, and the sample included 3,481 HR professionals from eight different industries in SHRM’s membership.  Where possible, data are compared with results from previous years.
