40-Hour Bill Passes House Committee, But Likely to Stall
A bill defining full-time employment under the Patient Protection and Affordable Care Act (PPACA) as 40 hours a week, instead of the statute's current 30-hour threshold, passed the House Committee on Ways and Means on Feb. 4, 2014. But the party-line vote suggests the measure may have difficulty passing the Democrat-controlled Senate, even if it passes the Republican-led House.
