When Work Works 2012 . . . That’s a Wrap!
This week, as part of the When Work Works program, a webinar was held for SHRM members in the Northeast, marking the final chapter for workplace flexibility programming in 2012. It has been a highly successful year, with a staggering 77 workflex programs on effective and flexible workplaces conducted, reaching over 6,200 HR professionals!
The New Year Ahead
At least eight SHRM state councils and/or chapters have committed to serve as When Work Works Community Partners in 2013, and more are joining weekly. These partners provide community and/or state-wide leadership on this important HR issue and help promote the 2013 Sloan Award for Excellence in Workplace Effectiveness and Flexibility. Be sure to mark your calendar as the 2013 Sloan Award application process begins on January 14, 2013. Take this opportunity to showcase your organization’s innovative flex strategies or simply apply to learn how your organization compares to other applicants, as well as a nationally representative sample of employers.
Early next year, When Work Works will hit the ground running in target states, also, with several educational programs, including:
Currently, additional workplace flexibility programming is scheduled in the remaining 2013 target states, including Alabama, Colorado, Delaware, Hawaii, Indiana, Kansas, Louisiana, Montana, Nevada, New Jersey, North Carolina, South Dakota, Washington and continuing in California. State councils or chapters interested in bringing When Work Works to their state or community should contact Cassidy Neal, SHRM’s Workplace Flexibility Program Specialist, at Cassidy.Neal@shrm.org.
