On May 13, Mike Aitken, SHRM’s Director of Government Affairs, joined other work-life policy experts to discuss “What’s Next?” for workplace flexibility public policy.
In a panel discussion on “The Future of Work-Life Balance and Workplace Flexibility” hosted by the New America Foundation, SHRM offered its vision for a new public policy that encourages employers to offer more flexible workplace benefits and arrangements.
This event was a follow-up to the White House Forum on Workplace Flexibility, giving panelists (each of whom also participated in the White House Forum) an opportunity to offer recommendations on the work-life balance. SHRM was invited to participate in this event because of the leadership role it has played on workplace flexibility.
SHRM will participate in a similar panel discussion on extended time-off policy on June 15, 2010.
